In Bulwer-Lytton’s infamous XIX century play, Richelieu, Cardinal Richelieu learns of a plot against him contrived by his friend and confidant, the monk Joseph.
As a priest, Richelieu could not challenge the monk to a physical combat so instead, issued the written statement: “Beneath the rule of men entirely great, the pen is mightier than the sword.”
The historical metaphor could not ring truer today in these first years of the new millennium.

Miguel brings his solid background in financial journalism to the company, having worked on the editorial teams of TVI e Rádio Renascença in Portugal, as well as CNBC Europe and The Financial Times in London, (where he obtained a Masters in International Financial Journalism at City University).
In 2004 he took on the role of Deputy Director of the Diário Económico. Previous communications posts include Communications and Public Relations Manager of the Jerónimo Martins group and Executive Director of Ogilvy Comunicação & Imagem.
Following this, he was appointed Partner at the integrated communications agency Cupido, in charge of Communications, Internationalisation and New Business.
